Overview:
The Witch’s Glen is a children’s book created to convey a powerful and timely message: don’t judge others based on preconceived notions. Aimed at readers aged five to nine, the story encourages empathy, curiosity, and open-mindedness. It challenges cultural assumptions and highlights how deeply our beliefs—especially superstitions—are shaped by upbringing and tradition.

Narrative & Inspiration:
The story draws on my personal experience with my mother, who practices Paganism. Through this lens, the book introduces young readers to a worldview that sees all aspects of life as interconnected with nature. The witch in the story represents this perspective. Initially feared by the forest children due to parental warnings, she is ultimately understood to be a wise and kind figure when the children choose to approach her with curiosity rather than fear.

Illustration & Design:
I had the honor of illustrating the entire book using Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop. The visual style features a nature-inspired color palette—earthy greens, browns, and soft neutrals—that supports the book’s calm, organic themes. The illustrations are crafted to be both approachable and immersive, helping young readers connect emotionally with the characters and story.

Result:
The Witch’s Glen aims to spark thoughtful conversations between children and adults about prejudice, cultural diversity, and the importance of seeing beyond appearances. It’s a gentle, visually rich introduction to deeper values of understanding and respect
